Design Philosophy

The core of this design is biophilic principles, which focus on incorporating nature into the built environment. We achieved this by prioritizing elements that foster a connection to the outdoors, even within an urban setting.

Key Features

• Optimized Daylighting: The layout was reconfigured to maximize natural light throughout the day, creating a bright and airy atmosphere. Strategically placed mirrors and reflective surfaces help to bounce light into deeper parts of the home.
• Seamless Storage Solutions: We designed custom storage solutions that are both highly functional and aesthetically pleasing. Integrated cabinets and hidden compartments provide ample space for belongings without cluttering the rooms or compromising the open feel of the apartment.
• Artisanal Craftsmanship: The project features several pieces of custom-made loose furniture, including the sofa, dining table, and beds. These pieces were crafted from solid wood by talented local artisans, adding a unique, handcrafted touch and supporting the local community.
• Vibrant, Natural Accents: To complement the calming, earthy tones of the biophilic theme, we introduced subtle pops of color through carefully selected wallpapers. These designs add a touch of vibrancy and personality to the spaces without overwhelming the peaceful aesthetic.

This renovation demonstrates how a mindful approach to design can transform a standard apartment into a personalized, serene haven. It is a testament to the power of biophilic design and local craftsmanship in creating a home that is not only beautiful but also deeply restorative.
